1Controller
The data controller is Linework USA Inc. (Delaware, United States). For any privacy question or request, write to support@linework.app.
2In short
We do not build profiles of people who search. We do not sell, rent or hand over personal data to advertisers, data brokers or other companies. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Every Booh service is independent and uses only the data it needs, when you use it.
3Your searches
The text you search is used only to find results. To get them, our server sends it, without your name, email or IP address, to technical providers working for us: Brave Software Inc. (USA) for web results, Anthropic PBC (USA) for the LineAI answer and Wikipedia/Wikidata for entries and suggestions. Results and suggestions stay in a temporary cache for a few minutes to a few hours, indexed by a fingerprint of the text and not by who searched it. We keep no history of your searches.
4Suggestions, photos and voice
While you type, the text goes to our server for suggestions, which are computed without knowing who you are. If you search with a photo, the image is shrunk on your device, sent to Anthropic to turn it into search words and then discarded: we do not keep it. Voice search uses your browser's dictation; where the browser has none (for example the Booooooh browser), a few seconds of audio go to Deepgram (USA) to be transcribed and are then discarded: we do not keep them. To complete phrases while you type we also ask DuckDuckGo for suggestions, without your name, email or IP address.
5IP address and security
We use your IP address to protect the service (anti-abuse limits, blocking attacks, excluding people who break the rules) and to pick the language from your country. Security logs are kept as long as needed to defend the service; in removal requests the IP is stored only as an irreversible fingerprint.
6Cookies
We use only technical cookies: booh_lang remembers the chosen language (one year); booh_sess and booh_who exist only if you link your Linework profile (90 days, until you unlink it). No profiling, advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
7Linked Linework profile
Linking is optional and under your control. If you turn it on, Booh reads a summary on the spot (unread messages and notifications, LineworkPay account status, orders) only to show you the pills on the home page: it does not store it, does not use it for results or ads and never sees your password. You can unlink at any time.
8Advertising
Ads are chosen only from the words of the search and the page language. Views and clicks are counted with an anonymous code tied to the ad, not to you; advertisers see only totals.
9Removal requests and WikiLine
When you request a removal we use your name, email, the page address and the reason to review it and reply; we keep them as long as needed to handle the request and document the decision. WikiLine entries contain only the public data the person concerned chose to publish, with sources.
10Booooooh browser
History, bookmarks, logins and browser settings stay on your device. The browser tells Booh sites its version so they can notify you of updates, and sends no telemetry.
11People excluded for abuse
To protect people and staff, when we exclude someone for threats or serious abuse we keep irreversible fingerprints (hashes) of some of their data, such as email and IP, only to stop them from coming back. They are not readable data and serve no other purpose.
12Where data is
Booh servers are in Europe (OVH). The technical providers listed above may process search text in the United States, under appropriate contractual safeguards and without receiving your identity.
13Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to its processing and receive a copy by writing to support@linework.app. If you live in the European Union you can also contact your country's data protection authority.
14Minors
Booh is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and searches about child abuse are blocked.
15Changes
If we change this policy we publish the new version on this page with its date; if the change is important we tell you on Booh beforehand.
